Unleash! Forum for Educators @ Learning & Teaching Expo (13 Dec 2019)
December 2019
This is a one-day forum with panel discussions and workshop activities to enable educators understand the value of design thinking to students, teachers and school administrators.
The forum will kick off with a keynote address on the ever increasing importance of a human-centred education in the digital world. The morning panel will feature international experts sharing how design thinking can – as a pedagogy, a process and a way of thinking – empower and motivate learning, facilitate the development of essential 21st century skills, create new solutions to the school administration system and build a collaborative culture.
The afternoon will feature case studies panels for primary and secondary school educators. Speakers will share their experiences in applying and integrating design thinking in the curriculum, the value, outcome and impact on both students and teachers. Participants will learn the dos and don’ts in the design thinking application journey.
In addition to the case study panels, there will be four workshops in the afternoon:
- Design thinking 101 for novices who are interested in a taste of design thinking
- Let’s throw a STEAM party! for participants to learn how to integrate design thinking in STEAM education to maximise the learning outcome and impact
- Project-Based Learning Made Easy for participants to learn how to integrate design thinking in general and liberal studies
- Bring your passion back to teaching for participants to understand how design thinking can bring the joy back to teaching
The forum was conducted in English and Cantonese. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for programmes marked with*.
